The hotel staff were quire helpful and friendly. But room 726 was out-of-range of the floor's Wi-Fi transmitter, producing a very weak signal frequently lost. And the wired ethernet connection in the room's wall failed to work as a backup route to the internet. The front desk quickly cancelled the 24-hour internet access which had been purchased. But no other rooms were available to move to. It was frustrating not to have in-room internet access for 3 nights.

My travel-mate and I were recent guests of the Golden Tulip Regente in Rio de Janeiro in mid-August 2010. We were not familiar with the chain, but by the time we departed (6 days later), we were hooked on the excellent customer service, the professionalism of the entire staff, the EXCELLENT location, the large rooms and the overwhelming sense of safety we felt during our stay. The entire staff was world class and of special note, Mr. Adilson was simply charming and extremely helpful to us - even assisting me with a last minute surprise celebration for my travel-mate! I am definitely Team-GTR and if I find myself in Rio again, I will definitely stay at Regente! Thanks from DWebb (co-occupant of registered guest)

The staff went the extra mile to ensure we had a pleasant stay in Golden Tulip Regente. I was very happy with the service and the location is just fantastic! I only wish I had a view of the beach from my window. Our room was located in the opposite side of the hotel. I also did not enjoy the breakfast. Eggs were soggy and not much variety. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again. Macy

The only thing that would make us thinking to return was the bedroom cleaning. Unfortunately the bedrooms were not clean enough for a Hotel in that category. The guys in the reception are great, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Very good locality and the porters were very professional.
