Considering the city....it's normal
It's a good Hotel, though you can get the feeling it's too much money for what you get, but heck.....this is RIO and everything seems expensive.
We had a great time nonetheless.

Had better expectations
Location is fine, staff is friendly and price is fair, however: swimming pool heating malfunctioned so the water remained cold during my stay (5 days); gym equipment is quite old; not so much choice in the breakfast menu. Not sure I would recommend the hotel or book it again for myself.

Dear Sirs,
Travelling 5 months/year to Brazil, I come often to Rio and always stay in your hotel. I appreciate the kindness of the employees at the reception.
This time however, I have had some "problems" in the room ie. the water in the shower was almost boiled water, the two tabs delivering hot water only. This excepted everything was fine.
It would be appreciated for regular clients if you could implement a fidelity card offering advantages (eg. upgrades when possible) as many hotels do.

Ants in my room
I don't think I need to describe more about the ants, just that they were everywhere. And the support from the front desk was more than terrible, I called 4 times and they were supposed to call back, never did it, they only changed my room when I went downstairs... again terrible service.

Reasonably priced for the area
Some say this hotel is expensive but when you consider the location you can understand why. Standard similar to U.K premier Inn, nothing great but clean rooms and good breakfast. Great location for Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Close to buses, metro and an abundance of restaurants. There are better hotels but very expensive. Pool is a waste of space as really small, but quite nice if you want a drink up there. Some say this hotel is expensive but when you consider the location you can understand why. 1 - Check-out muuuuito demorado. É preciso melhorar bastante.
2 - Apto 1242. Chuveiro péssimo! Muito inferior ao antigo Luxor Regente.
3 - Ar condicionado pré-programado (ou com defeito) para desligar automáticamente após 01 hora. Solicitei reparo 2x e o problema continuou.
Parabéns ao animador do Cocktail do Reveillon. 1 - Check-out muuuuito demorado. É preciso melhorar bastante.

Hotel to be recommended
My husband and I use to spend several months/year in Brazil and each time we spend a few days in Rio. We always try to stay in this hotel. Depending from the period of the year, the room allocated is superior or standard but even the standard is comfortable. Staff almost always ready to help. Among the employees working at reception, the ones who are there for many years are excellent : they recognise us and try always to meet our needs as much as possible. This of course is one of the reason we come back to the Golden Tulip Regente. My husband and I use to spend several months/year in Brazil and each time we spend a few days in Rio. Atendimento de funcionários
Bom dia,
Sobre o período de estadia no hotel, tenho como crítica somente o atendimento e o preparo dos funcionários.
Acredito que o atendimento é muito importante e é por intermédio dele que cativamos clientes.
Os funcionários do hotel são mal humorados e pouco solicitos. Acho que o hotel deveria investir em treinamento dos funcionários para prestarem melhor atendimentos aos hóspedes.
Tratam muito mal os hóspedes, bem ríspidos, sérios e de poucas palavras e informações sobre os serviços que são prestados.
